Began as a copy editor and page designer working in newspapers, before making the transition to online media platforms. After 15 years of working in the newspaper industry, Tripp moved to Alaska to begin a career in public radio. Tripp is the news director for KNBA, a Native-owned and –operated public radio station in Anchorage, Alaska, and covers issues and policies affecting or pertaining to Indigenous communities. Tripp is a Native American Journalists Association board member and currently serves as the board Secretary; and an appointed member of the Innovation and Access Working Group for the Communications Equity and Diversity Council of Federal Communications Commission. They are a former member and chair of the Station Advisory Committee for Native Public Media.
