IJA is no longer accepting program proposals

IJA will facilitate conference programs for best practices in Indigenous media that provide training and workshops to support and enhance the knowledge and skills of journalists covering Indigenous communities.

In addition to breakout sessions, sponsors may propose an exclusive plenary session, which would be available to all attendees.

Who Should Sponsor & Exhibit?

IJA is offering event partners a great mix of educational, networking and marketing opportunities to reach an influential Indigenous audience. In return for their participation and support, IJA will acknowledge sponsor organizations through recognition opportunities to be featured in the program book, on the IJA website and throughout event promotion materials, including on the IJA YouTube channel, which will host select IMC content following the in-person conference.

If you are a recruiter, tribe, university, school, nonprofit or foundation with a mission to support and engage Indigenous communities, the conference is an opportunity to reach unique audiences and share unique experiences with the media professionals covering Indian Country.

For branding and sponsorship opportunities or questions about the 2025 Indigenous Media Expo, email: fcompton@naja.com.

The IMA’s are the first and only awards contest dedicated to honoring the work of Indigenous journalists and non-Indigenous journalists covering our stories. The IMA’s are uniquely designed to recognize excellence in reporting on Indigenous Peoples and communities across the U.S., Canada and globally. Entries from IJA members and non-members highlight important stories which we’re honored to celebrate every award season. The submission deadline has been extended to March 28.

IJA members and non-members can submit their entries using the BetterBNC Media Awards Platform. Before submitting an entry, please read the full contest instructions. Failure to comply with contest rules may lead to delayed results, ranking penalties during judging or full disqualification of entries without a refund.

This year we’re returning to a long-standing tradition: pen-and-paper bidding.

Suggested donations include Indigenous art, clothing, jewelry and beaded items. Unique items are welcome, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Proceeds from the silent auction are used to support IJA’s educational programs.

Donors will need to complete the Silent Auction Donation Form, and include a description of their donated items, estimated value and high-resolution image(s) as outlined on the form. All items must be received no later than 1 p.m. MT on Thursday, Aug. 13, to be included. Donors may bring auction items to the IJA registration desk during the conference.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Sheena Roetman-Wynn at sroetman@naja.com.
