Roselynn Yazzie is the Public Affairs Manager for Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.

Roselynn Yazzie, an enrolled member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and Diné, brings nearly two decades of journalism and Indigenous media experience to her role as a member of the Indigenous Journalists Association Board of Directors.

For 19 years, she served as a reporter and assistant editor for the Sho-Ban News, covering Tribal government, education, health, sports, and community features. She is also an award-winning photographer, experienced graphic designer, and video producer. Her work has earned multiple Indigenous media awards and reflects her commitment to sharing authentic stories from Native communities.

Yazzie has been an active IJA member since 2011, served as a mentor for student journalists, and continues to support the next generation of Indigenous media professionals. In 2024, she was elected to the IJA Board of Directors.

Currently, Yazzie serves as Public Affairs Manager for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, where she oversees media relations, strategic communications, and government affairs coordination. Her approach is guided by the traditional teachings passed down from her grandparents and grounded in a strong respect for the voices of Tribal membership.

She makes her home in Fort Hall, Idaho, and is the proud mother to her daughter, Hazebah. She enjoys traveling, attending powwows, cultural events and appreciating the beauty of the land.
