IJA hosting board committee meetings at 2024 Indigenous Media Conference

Global, IndigiQueer and Membership committees to meet in Oklahoma City

NORMAN, Okla. – The Indigenous Journalists Association (IJA) is hosting board committee meetings during the Indigenous Media Conference (IMC) at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City, July 25-27, 2024.

IJA board member and global committee chair, Angel Moore (Cree), is inviting members and attendees from North of the medicine line (Canada) to meet about establishing a northern IJA chapter. Join her on Thursday July 25 during the 2:00 p.m. break, in the Myriad on the second floor if you’re interested in developing this chapter.

The recently formed IJA Global Committee will be meeting on Friday July 26 during the 3:00 p.m. coffee break in the Myriad on the second floor. Attendees from around the word and those with an interest in IJA’s global initiatives should attend.

The IJA IndigiQueer Committee is hosting a session on Friday July 26 at 6:15 p.m. in Automobile Alley B, and invites all conference attendees to participate in the creation of a style guide.

IJA’s Membership Committee is hosting a meeting on Saturday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. in the Paseo room on the second floor.

  • Jul. 27 – Membership committee meeting – 2:00 p.m. (Paseo)

IJA has committees that shape and guide the organization. These committees are made up of board members and IJA members. Any IJA member is able to join any committee, with the exception of the executive committee. If you are interested in joining a committee, please email: contact@naja.com.
