Created in partnership with the New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, the IJA-NYU graduate scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship to one of 10 NYU journalism graduate programs.
These scholarships are open to all U.S. citizens or permanent residents, regardless of identity or background so long as the candidate shares the core mission of IJA. This scholarship is limited to students applying to our in-person concentrations. American Journalism Online applicants are not eligible for this scholarship.

Awardees can earn a graduate journalism degree in one of 10 NYU graduate journalism programs:

- Magazine & Digital Storytelling

How to Apply
Interested candidates only need to complete the regular NYU Journalism application. Proof of IJA membership in the Indigenous Journalism Association must be submitted at the time of accepting the fellowship award. Applicants may join IJA upon receiving the offer. Please note that membership in IJA is open to individuals of all racial backgrounds, and this scholarship is as well.
