The University of Oklahoma in Norman now celebrates Indigenous Peoples’ Day. After Native Americans on OU’s campus and around the city of Norman raised concern about the celebration of Columbus Day, Norman City Council passed a resolution to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day, for the second year in a row. OU student, Julia Spottedbird, tells us how it feels to be on campus during the celebration, and what she thinks it means for Native American Communities.
