About She Matters
She Matters is a survivor-led organization working at the intersection of research, systems change, and advocacy to improve access to care and justice for individuals impacted by sexual and interpersonal violence (IPV). Our work focuses on identifying gaps across healthcare, legal, and crisis response systems, and translating those insights into actionable solutions, resources, and public-facing content.
Through national research, cross-sector collaboration, and survivor-informed approaches, we aim to strengthen how systems respond to violence while making complex information more accessible to those navigating them. We also work to shape public understanding of these issues by contributing to media, policy conversations, and educational content.
About the Role
We are hiring a Content & Social Media Associate to help us stay closely attuned to developments in the sexual violence and IPV sector, and translate those insights into clear, thoughtful, and trauma-informed content.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in journalism, communications, or a related field who can move between research, writing, and content creation with care and precision. You will play a key role in helping our audience understand what’s happening, why it matters, and how to make sense of it.

Use of AI
At She Matters, we hold a strong commitment to original, relational, and accountable knowledge creation. As a non-profit organization, we recognize that AI tools can be useful for certain operational, organizational, or administrative tasks.
However, for this role, the research, writing, and content you produce should be your own. This includes how you interpret information, synthesize ideas, and shape narratives. Our work is grounded in lived experience, community engagement, and thoughtful analysis, and we believe this cannot be meaningfully replaced by automated tools.
Our approach to knowledge is not only about what is shared, but how it is carried, understood, and put into a relationship with others. We value care, depth, and responsibility in how information is created and communicated.
If this way of working does not align with your approach, we encourage you to reflect on whether this role is the right fit at this time.
